shamish Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Apologies if been posted before did'nt know what to search which i normally do. Been driving with my lights on recently and the 2 lights which normally go off when you brake the left one is staying on. Checked the brake lights and working fine so cant be that 2 have recently started staying on but the right one goes off after a wee while. They are'nt there when my lights are off only when i have my lights on. Its the one's that when you start the car you have to brake before they switch off. My dad had the same problem but it went off once and never came back on :S Think it's maybe a warning system to say the brakes need changed? Car is needing serviced but can unfornately afford it at the moment :( Car is a ford Galaxy T reg 1999 Ghia X  Thanks very much for any replies. Shamish Quote

Very weird maybe a common fault? Hope not and hopfully it's easily fixed. Did a search on brake lights to see if i can find anything and some comments were the brake lights bridge and could be that. Suppose we'll have to check and see  Quote
keith9534 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Ours does the same!! Its a 1996 Tdi...we didn`t know you had to brake to put them out..but the left one always stays on We thought it was because we had a tow bar fitted that it had affected it somehow? Quote
seatkid Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Check all the lights in the rear cluster. I may be wrong but IIRC the check circuit checks the brake and side lights.... NB. There are 2 side lamps per side in the the rear clusters. Quote
